Suits

Hip hop isn't all baggy jeans and explicit T-shirts. In fact from my research i have found that in the World of rap music most fashion is a lot more upmarket for the big stars. Many images I see of Kanye West and the likes of are of them wearing and black jacket and shirt, often even with a tie. For my magazine aimed at wealthy males under 30 i will use this fashion sense to my advantage and suit up my artist to impress the audience. This fits both the gene and audience plus gives the cover, contents and DPS a good mise en scene that can run throughout the magazine. Brands that stars have themselves often make smart clothing and, although it is not well covered by the media as they are overshadowed by other 'real' brands, they do quite well and have a reputation for their knowledge in the industry.
